 my mother isn't a huggy kissy type either. although, i have seen this woman lay affection and kisses all over babies and toddlers. it always leaves me thinking "who is this person." but having said all that, i AM my own affectionate person because i seek that in others. and by that i simply mean, if someone is affectionate to me, i am open and able to reciprocate that in return. it doesn't have to be pulled outta me. but most that i've come across are not affectionate so i don't push or force the issue. give you an example: a former co-worker would always playfully try to poke me in the gut. i'd laugh it off and say something like "are you crazy". we got along great; nothing overtly sexual that was intended or ever implied. he ended up leaving the job. NOW jump ahead 5, 6 months. we cross paths and i'm happy to see him, i go to give a quick hug and he literally leans back. wtf! if i didn't catch myself, i would have fallen over. and this is a hug, i wasn't trying to kiss him on the mouth, just a hug to a former friend and co-worker. and i was quite embarrassed too. but yet this is the guy that kept trying to poke my belly.
