Don't Mean To Be

This time of year makes me miss having a dog. My work schedule means I will miss Thanksgiving this year. I wish I had a dog, but landlords just don't allow pets because of irresponsible pet owners. The ones that do allow pets charge outrageous non-refundable deposits and fees that you would think that one has to be paying rent for a completely separate property.

I don't like people much, but I have had a since I was 12 and not one of them were ever an asshole. Never had to give up being me to please their ego, never ghosted me, never were judgmental. If you are a pet owner then you get it. Those with don't get it because are just miniature versions of the assholes I've encountered in my lifetime.

Dogs are comforting and soothing. Even if they need a lot of care, they give back more than I have ever given them. Just a perfect match.

 I understand totally. I am lucky tho, I live in a place mandated by law to allow pets, of course with a $200 non-refundable deposit per pet, so in my case when I invited 2 sister cats into my mousehold a week ago, it amount to $400- in deposit. So far worth it, they were neglected in their previous home & now are not neglected at all, and since I have had a cat in my life since the age of 8, a long time, lol, as well as many dogs too, the last 3 petless months have been terrible to say the least.

 I am a pet owner and my cat is lovely and non-destructive. It's people that give bad reputations- I get it

 I love dogs and cats... I miss having a pet also. I live in a place that doesn't allow animals either.
It can suck.

 People and dogs have been together for many years and one does compliment the other. You have a very pleasant face not to be looking for a male friend. Sounds like you have the work schedule I have had on a few occasions

 yr not alone with that ..I know a lot of real good pet owners that are in the same position .The bad pet owners make it so difficult for the good guys and its not fair ..ppl should be judged on how caring they are and not because of someone elses bad behaviour..Do you have any kind of rescue shelter or SPCA near you? maybe go do a bit of dog walking or just cuddling with a dog it may lift your spirits a bit of love for you and a needy animal goes a long way..
