I'm agreeing with Mac here. We used to call it crunchy if someone didn't make it with all the water... I haven't thought about that in years. I learned to make something called "Jamaica" (pronounced huh-my-kuh) in Mexico and people kept telling me "put more sugar in it, put more sugar in it" until they could feel the granuales in their mouth. Uck. I have since made it without so much sugar, and it looks like Hawaiian punch but is made from dried Hibiscus Flowers. It is tart and good. Like Thalia, I used to love Kool Aid, when I was much younger. But, as I grow up, I see through a lot of advertising. Live life to it's fullest! If you're bored, Read Hugs Gypsy

I have on occasions, and since I am diabetic I use Splenda (as noted). It's an alternative drink. And yes, I have been involved in something where I "drank the kool-aid". But this has a positive effect in society. Live life to it's fullest! If you're bored, Read Hugs Gypsy

I started drinking it sometimes what with the kids around and all. The kids would make it with two quarts of water but often put in two packets of flavor and not always the same kind. They also liked to put in more sugar. So I changed the measuring cup from a 1/2 cup to a 1/5 cup and told them they could put one extra scoop in. I still found lots of sugar in the bottom sometimes though. Vive La Difference

Those were the days... Kool-Aid was a treat in our house when I was little. We used to put it in ice cube trays and freeze it to make our own frozen treats. Of course the toothpicks just didn't cut it as a handle.. Rachel Mae

Obviously I crashed and burned before this got posted last night. OMG Grape Kool Aid was a rich treat when I was growing up. I do not think I could swallow it now- I don't even drink soda. Constant Comment tea or Ice- but this was a fun trip down memory lane (Virtual Symposium Group) use Virtual Symposium Group
