Met a lot of MLB players in my time.
(Baseball)

From the 60's forward.

A lot of teams have their spring training here in Arizona.

I live in very close to WB, NBC, Disney and few other studios. It isn't uncommon to run into a famous person at a market or movie theater. To people who live in the area, it's not such a big deal.
Also, I worked in entertainment industry, mostly music, for almost 30 years. And although my job was way behind the scene, I've met many, many celebrities over the years.

Since I lived and worked for a while in and around Hollywood I have a few. My auto racing was part of that too.

Paul Newman at a race he was driving in and I was in one of the supporting races. Just happened to come across him in the pit area and said hi and shook hands. He was ‘just another driver’ there, but a VERY good driver.

Tom Cruise at a race on a track in the little town of Holtville, Ca. He was driving a Newman owned car. Me and a few other drivers had a ‘discussion’ with him – he is a dick.

Marsha Mason at a race, possibly the same one as Cruise.

Perry King played a practical joke on a female race driver/friend when he did some racing in the 80s. Kind of surprised the crap out of us he played along but he was totally cool and fun with it.

Cher 2 times while working on an Xmas tree lot delivered trees to her house both times. Leslie Neilson at the same time.

Quite true of when I lived in SoCal.

Several NHL hockey players, and World-Class figure skaters. And the former Prime Ministers of Canada, Pierre Trudeau and Jean Chretien.

Was part of an honour guard for Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip and Princess Anne, but only saw them, wasn't introduced. .
