yup ...and there you have it. There is also a million people a year (world wide) that die of Tetanus. I think the vaccination is about sixty cent. We get all excited about terrorism which of course is the idea of it and ignore every thing else. At the same time I would certainly love to see an end to terrorist acts. Maybe if we work on some of the other world problems a bit there would be less terrorists. Go watch Jim Jefferies show on gun control. One place to start. There you go That's all and none of it tragic.

Living in Europe is getting dangerous! FUCK TERRORISM.....

We kill each other here much more than any other terrorists do. A good graphic, but I agree it should have covered the period including 9/11, it would probably be even more convincing. This is a difficult issue here in part because the gun lobby has many politicians in their nicely lined pockets. I believe in the “right to bear arms”, but many people don’t understand that with rights come responsibilities. Also, the writers of the Constitution probably never envisioned high-powered assault weapons. That needs to be adjusted for. Just curious, does Australia have in it’s Constitution a “right to bear arms”? When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

No "right to bear arms" in Australia is probably one reason why the legislation was easy to pass. IMO, it really isn’t the individual members who are the power behind the NRA. Roughly 80% of them support stronger background checks, restricting assault type weapons and other measures. The NRA’s power (a.k.a. money) is with the gun makers who the NRA really represents. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

Our Freedom of Speech allows politicians to tell whatever lies they want to with out any consequences. The lack of political transparency and accountability makes it even easier. So money rules the country. On the national level particularly the people really don’t have any representation but many believe they do. Some/many politicians peddle fear and it gets lapped up my some. The electoral process is antiquated and is now a “reality”/popularity show with very little substance. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

I don’t expect perfection but the way things have become, particularly since 9/11, we are weaker – lies do that. Personally I don’t like the right/left wing stuff – it just divides us further. I prefer honest and practical solutions to world and national issues. We are supposed to be the UNITED States. Here we have made politicians less and less accountable and made it easier to be influenced by money and corruption. A Supreme Court ruling gave corporations (a.k.a. money) equal, if not more, rights than people. The Nixon thing (power corrupts) woke some people up but the lesson hasn’t struck. Murdoch is just another money/power hungry low life. When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro. The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

I find it interesting you guys are worried about assault riffles. While they have been used in some of the worst violence I think the vast majority for gun deaths and violence in this US actually involves hand guns. Hand guns really only have on purpose and that is to shoot people. There you go That's all and none of it tragic.
