Oh how I wish teenage girls could see themselves through their own 50 or 60 year old eyes. Perhaps then they would focus on being the person they want to be instead of focusing on the appearance that they think they have to have. Good post, thanks for sharing your thoughts.

As most of us that have attained certain ages, we realize that being dead or being alive at our ages and accepting ourselves, one is better than the other. I have to admit that I was very thin as a young woman. No boobs. Flat butt. No waist. But I cultivated my sense of comedy instead of relying on my looks. Flash forward to 50, husband divorces me. What, what, what?! What the hell do I do now? What I did was just take my sense of humor and I decided that I would be happy. A funny thing happened along the way, I found "my beauty". That is not to say that I am beautiful. But what I did discover is that I am beautiful in my own way. And that is a hard thing to find but it became easier because of my age. Good post, Kk The observant make the best lovers, I may not do right, but I do write, I have bliss, joy, and happiness in my life, Kitkat Come check out my blog KItkat1415 check out this post by me Adventures In Body Grooming #39 April Topic Link: What Lies Beneath If April Showers Oh Bloody Hell What Kind Of Weather Turns Me On Bloggers Symposium 40

Well, done. I was tormented as a youth, not so much by others as it was my mother. Be this and be that, look this way or be ugly and she damn near killed me with diet pills at the age of 10. The struggle for physical acceptance has long left my mental course of self identity. With maturity comes flaws, and left over scars of youth. It's good to take care of yourself, but you have to love yourself and accept yourself, then others will love and accept you too. Loving you "just the way you are". I take that same view of others, as I do myself. The not so perfect is often times, more perfect. Come on over, be my muse, enjoy some insider fantasies. With age comes experience, and with experience comes comfort in one's own skin, and with comfort in one's own skin comes beauty. Well said!
